TO PROMOTE AND FACILITATE COMMUNICATION AMONG SHERIFFS, THEIR DEPUTIES, OTHER PEACE OFFICERS AND CITIZENS INTERESTED IN THE ENFORCEMENT OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF UTAH; AND TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LAW ENFORCEMENT IN THE STATE OF UTAH; AND TO PROMOTE PUBLIC AWARENESS OF ISSUES AFFECTING LAW ENFORCEMENT; AND TO SUPPORT LEGISLATION THAT WOULD INCREASE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT; AND TO ASSIST COUNTY GOVERNMENTS IN THE EFFICIENT USE OF THE MERIT SYSTEM; AND TO COOPERATE WITH SIMILAR POLICE ASSOCIATIONS THROUGHOUT UTAH AND THE UNITED STATES.
